PPPRA says price of petrol cannot be reduced from N145

The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, has made it clear that the price of petrol would not be reduced from its present price which is N145 and that it should have been higher in the first place.

This also follow the recent accusation made by the house of reps that the agency is making life difficult for Nigerians by making them incur unnecessary cost in its pricing template.

PPPRA said it cannot determine the price of petrol alone therefore not responsible for the high price of petrol.

The agency lap said that theNigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC; the Major Marketers Association of Nigeria, MOMAN; the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA; and Depot and Petroleum Marketers Association, DAPMA, and the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, were all carried along in pegging the pump price of PMS at N145 per litre.
